# Demonstrate Situational Awareness

> Training module helping teams recognise and maintain situational awareness during dynamic incidents, building confidence in information flow, priority-setting, and coordinated response within the New Zealand CIMS framework.

Fixinc facilitates practical training sessions focused on identifying, sharing, and responding to evolving incident information. Participants learn how to assess the operational picture, understand changing risks, and feed intelligence into decision-making processes, whether they are part of the response team or providing strategic support. The module includes facilitated discussions and live scenario examples.

Situational awareness is one of the first things to break down in a live event. This training helps teams build the discipline to manage uncertainty, avoid cognitive overload, and communicate with clarity under pressure. The module is especially relevant for those in control, planning, or intelligence roles, and supports the move from reactive response to coordinated action.

## Delivery Methodology

The discipline follows Fixinc's four-step approach to resilience implementation:

**01. Plan** - Agile, first-principles planning ensures a smooth rollout of your refreshed program.

**02. Do** - Demonstrate Situational Awareness is rolled out smoothly at your organisation.

**03. Check** - Your Demonstrate Situational Awareness is draft until validated. Testing and validation confirm effectiveness.

**04. Act** - Your team and ours will be ready when your Demonstrate Situational Awareness is activated in real-life scenarios.

## Engagement Process

**Initial Consultation**

- A link will be sent via email from the Advisory team. You can select a convenient time to chat over phone, Teams, Zoom, or in person.
- 30-45 minute discussion to understand your objectives. Fixinc shares their approach and provides opportunity for Q&A.
- Proposal delivered within 24 hours detailing the scope of work. Discussion scheduled one week later, with final quote provided within 10 minutes of that conversation.
- If not signed within 5 weeks, Fixinc assumes it is not the right time and closes the proposal.

**Delivery Phases**

- **Review and Health Check**: All implementations start with a deep review of existing capabilities. Benchmarks are established based on best practice and ISO standards.
- **Design and Develop**: The Demonstrate Situational Awareness component of your New Zealand CIMS program is built with appropriate involvement from your team.
- **Validate**: Where appropriate, testing and validation provide tangible evidence of capability and maturity to stakeholders.
- **Maintain**: An annual plan ensures ongoing momentum and effectiveness of the discipline.
