## Role

**Position**: Resilience Advisor

**Location**: New Zealand office

**Joined Fixinc**: October 2025

Vanessa supports Fixinc's Resilience Programmes through policy development, business impact analyses, business continuity plans, training, and scenario exercises.

## Professional Background

Vanessa's career spans 15 years in financial services in Australia and a further 10 years in local government between New Zealand and the UK. This diverse experience has enabled her to engage with stakeholders at all levels and the wider community, whilst developing deep understanding of various legislative requirements, risk management frameworks, and their practical implementation.

### Financial Services Experience

Within the financial services industry, Vanessa has worked with a broad range of businesses including trading, finance, market operations, and retail banking. Key areas of expertise include:

- Business Impact Analysis ([BIA](https://docs.fixinc.io/disciplines/business-impact-analysis.md))
- Dependency identification
- Development and testing of recovery strategies

- Off-platform template development and implementation

Vanessa's expertise extends to local government and public health sectors, where she held delegated enforcement powers under various Acts and regulations, including responsibilities during civil defence emergencies.

- CIMS certification (New Zealand)
- Health and safety qualifications (UK)
